Lawrie Cullen-Tait

Lawrie Cullen-Tait embarked on her new career as director after graduating from the WAAPA directing course in 2006. Lawrie has been assistant director on numerous productions, created a Shakespeare for corporations based on the Julius Caesar story, received a creative development grant to workshop a new play and staged Shakespeare in the desert. She is a twice graduate of WAAPA, graduating in design under the tuition of Richard Roberts. Design credits include The Year of Living Dangerously (Black Swan Theatre Company), Production Designer on the Australian feature film Teesh and Trude, Art Director on the docudrama Death of The Mega Beast, which is soon to be released on SBS TV and the National Geographic Channel, and Art Director on the television series Lockie Leonard. Lawrie is a partner and co-founder in the design and construction company Plumb Construction and Design, and earlier this year formed another company, Shoe Fly Productions with writer Suzanne Ingelbrecht.
