City of Perth Winter Arts Season
Monday, 21 June 2010
On Tuesday 1 June, the two Gemma’s - our Administration Officer and WAAPA secondment student, along with other employees from various arts organisations braved the cold to hand out over 5000 copies of this year’s City of Perth Winter Arts Season programme.
Even though it was the first day of winter, there wasn’t a drop of rain in sight and people walking through the Esplanade train station and Murray Street Mall were treated to two flashmob performances choreographed to Gene Kelly's classic Singin' in the Rain. The flashmobs dancers were joined by a jazz band, stilt walkers and artists in a giant snow dome to celebrate the opening of the City of Perth's Winter Arts Season. Have a look on YouTube!
Last year The Seed by Kate Mulvany was part of the programme and this year we’re very proud to have David Williamson’s The Removalists included. So be sure to pick up your copy and see what the city is offering this winter.
