Leading up to rehearsals for The Removalists, Melissa has constantly been on the move!
She has returned from spending three weeks at Theatertreffen in Berlin, meeting new people and seeing a feast of German-language theatre! This festival included the work of some of Germany’s most respected and innovative directors and Companies - Christoph Marthaler, Luk Perceval, Viktor Bodó, Roland Schimmelpfennig, Karin Beier and Schauspiel Köln, The Schaubuhne, The Berliner Ensemble, GobSquad and Yasmeen Godder from Israel.
On her way home she stopped off in Melbourne for a few days to catch up with The Removalists set designer Leon Krasenstein, to continue discussing and creating the amazing set for the show.
Last Monday night (14 June) Melissa was the guest speaker at The Dynamic Stage, a playwriting course run by Stages WA which brings together emerging writers to participate in regular workshops and seminars.
Melissa also delivered a lecture at The University of Notre Dame to Theatre Studies students and presented the winner's of the Blue Room Audience Development Award with tickets to The Removalists.
In addition to her busy schedule, she has been invited to give a keynote speech at The Fourth Annual Australian Women’s Leadership Symposium in September.
