The Removalists

by Ingle Knight

World Premiere

On September 26 1983, Australia II, skippered by John Bertrand, finally ended the USA’s 132 year domination of the America’s Cup, breaking the longest winning-streak in sporting history, in a competition that pre-dates the modern Olympics.

Relive the euphoria - the tale of Australia’s triumph and victory that placed the country on the sailing and sporting world map. Join the boys from Down Under in their quest for the highly desired ‘holy grail’ of sport.

This work specially commissioned for the 25th anniversary brings together eight of WA’s finest actors and will be a true celebration of West Australian cunning, ingenuity and spirit.

“Any boss who sacks a worker for not turning up today is a bum.”
The Hon. Robert J Hawke MP
(Australian Prime Minister 1983 -1991)
