What is the design in the Theatre?

Designing theatre is all the decorations you see from the costumes of the actors to the props of the stage. All those things are put there by the theatre designers. They do not have an easy task as they need to find the appropriate props for the play. It is not easy to find those things as there are times when they need to improvise and create one on their own. The design of the theatre needs to make the audience feel like they are there. It is alright to decorate the stage with a lot of props but it won’t be wise to overdo it. The set design is the most important of them all, so it is where the theatre designer put the most effort. The designer will plan for several weeks. The stage design alone could make or break the performance of the play.

What are the areas of Theatre design?

Once you get a look around the stage and see the costumes, sounds, properties, lighting, and scenery, those are the areas of theatre design. Those are the things that make up the stage. The play certainly won’t function without any of those areas. For example, without the lighting, the play won’t be as effective as it should be. The same goes for the costumes as the costume designer should do her job perfectly. It is alright to check out samples of past plays as long as the costumes fit in with the theme of the play.

What is performance architecture?

Performance architecture is the work done for the stage to look as good as it does. Of course, it would require a lot of work from a lot of people. One person won’t be able to get the job done as there are too many things to do. The materials won’t come cheap either as it will certainly be a big investment. It will be all worth it when the audience appreciates the time and effort in making the play a success. That is certainly not an easy as everyone should do their jobs properly. There is a lot of preparation that needs to be done. It is not something that can be done overnight. It takes a few days or even weeks to do it perfectly.
